There are several ways to save money on your heating bill. We have put together a list of steps to take before your next heating season.
Steps to lower cost of heating
Step 1: Set up a complete price profile
- In order to make the best decisions then the full cost structure of your heating system should be known to Themo. Fill out the complete price profile for your home to the best of your knowledge.
Step 2: Create a temperature schedule
- Use the Smart Schedule to lower the temperature when you are not at home. You might also consider lowering the temperature at night, if you're able to drift off to sleep in a chillier environment.
- When creating a Smart Schedule for Themo, you should first and foremost think about when you want your floor/room temperature to be at a certain level. Be as accurate as possible
- Lowering the minimum temperature in your room by one degree will lower about 6% on your heating consumption.
Step 3: Set a schedule limit
- To get the most benefit out of the cheap electricity hours, you should adjust the Schedule Limit for your device as high as possible/comfortable. This allows Themo to ''tank up'' heat when electricity prices are low
Step 4: Select correct sensor type
- When floor sensor is used then wrong sensor type may overheat your floor. Make sure that the correct floor sensor type is used from the app.
Step 5: Turn off heating when leaving.
- When leaving home for a weekend or a longer period then use the QuickActions to quickly turn off the heating for all devices. Resume schedule when returning home.
Step 6: Lower frost protection .
- Frost protection helps prevent your floors from freezing in cold weather. However, if set too high, it can cause unwanted heating and increase heating bills. Recommended Frost Protection temperature is 5 degrees.
