How does Themo operate in the demand response market?

Since February 2025, Themo Control customers have been able to participate in the demand response market in Finland with their device capacity. 

When joining the service, the customer's Themo Control devices are connected to thousands of other participating Themo Control devices as part of the Themo Flexibility service. Themo monitors the grid frequency and if the frequency deviates from 50.0 Hz, the thermostats connected to the service are automatically activated. The thermostats are switched on or off in a matter of seconds to balance the grid. The average activation time is 20 seconds and does not heat or cool your floor.
